What Are We Wearing?
We often choose what we wear based on what looks good, what is trending, or what we see other people wearing. T-shirts today can contain words, symbols, pictures, and messages that we may not always understand. Sometimes we wear something simply because we like the design, without taking the time to find out what the words or symbols actually mean.
As Israelites, we should be mindful of what we represent. The things we wear can communicate a message to the people around us. Some messages can be positive, encouraging, and uplifting, while others can promote negativity, disrespect, violence, immorality, or ideas that go against the way we are called to live.
The world constantly introduces new trends, symbols, and expressions, especially through social media. Something can become popular among young people without us knowing where it came from or what it represents. This is why we should not follow every trend without first understanding it.
Before wearing a shirt with a certain word, symbol, or picture, we should ask ourselves: What does this mean? Where did it come from? What am I representing by wearing it? And does it agree with the way we are supposed to walk as Israelites?
This does not mean that every symbol, design, or word is automatically negative. It means that we should have understanding and be careful about the things we choose to represent.

Our clothing is not what makes us Israelites, but our choices should reflect the identity and values that we claim to have. We should not allow fashion, popularity, or the opinions of others to determine everything we put on our bodies.
Instead, let’s be intentional about what we wear and what we represent.
Don’t just wear it because it looks good. Find out what it means, understand what you are representing, and choose wisely.
